If you think one ordinary person can't make a difference to millions, Wanda B. Goines has proven that to be wrong. This sweet-spirited 92-year-old resident of Portland, Oregon wrote a poem titled "The Gift-Wrap and the Jewel," which she read to her caretaker, Kathryn Clausnitzer Wilson. Wilson loved the poem and recorded Wanda reciting it, then posted it on her Facebook page on August 28, saying, "This is the precious lady I am honored to care for."

Within just a few days, the Facebook post had gone viral, and as of this writing, it has been viewed by nearly five million people and shared by nearly 200,000. In the poem, Goines shares a wise and warm perspective on aging.
