Ernie Haase & Signature Sound came to our hometown in Oak Grove, Mo., on May 11, 2013. My husband and I were introduced to the Gaither Vocal Band by my dad and mom, who in my opinion are the biggest fans of the GVB that I have ever known. We have heard numerous songs and watched many videos of the various Homecoming artists. One particular band that stood out to us in the South African Homecoming video was Ernie Haase & Signature Sound performing “Stand By Me.” Our 4-year-old daughter, Zoe, instantly started dancing to it, and we played it over and over. EHSS have not failed to entertain us with the energy they bring to the stage; it’s just the kind of movement Zoe relates to, and the best part is, the songs glorify our Savior and King. So on May 11th, we took her to see EHSS perform in our very own hometown. When she saw them for the first time on stage, she squealed, “ERNIE HAASE IS REALLY REAL!” She could not believe it. She was overwhelmed, overjoyed and energized during the concert. She wanted to see Ernie Haase up close so desperately, it brought her to tears. During intermission we squeezed through the crowd to say hi to the whole band and especially Ernie Haase. She finally met him! I took a picture to remember it forever. She still has not stopped spreading the news that “Ernie Haase is really real,” and she has a picture to prove it!
