My husband Jack and I went with friends to the Gaither Christmas Homecoming at Patriot Center in Fairfax, Va., last December, and we had a great time! “Gaither Groupie” friends Rose Smith and Marcia Payne really enjoyed meeting Kevin Williams. They had seen—and laughed at—Kevin in other venues, but they had never had the chance to see him “up close and personal.” They love to watch Kevin on DVDs…he seems to be a real encourager as well as a great guitar player and very funny man. Kevin is a great example of God using our unique gifts, and what a thrill it was to be so close to this hilarious guy!
We also had the chance, along with friends Tommy and Katie Webster, to speak with David Phelps. We had seen him before with the Gaither Vocal Band, as well as on his own, and we’ve decided we like his “new look!” Thankfully it hasn’t changed his voice, which never ceases to bring praise to God and bring us to tears. His “O Holy Night” was one of the many highlights of the evening.
The Websters appreciated the music from all of the Homecoming Friends, but David is WOW!
