Growing Old
Contributor Two Contributor Two
After attending too many funerals a few years ago, those of us who grew up in our church began to look around at how many patriarchs were no longer with us. This also meant the baton was being passed to us.

The words “time flies,” which we all heard over and over growing up, have true meaning now that we are in our 60s. Thinking on this one evening, I wrote these three sentences of noticeable but welcome changes.

GROWING OLD

There comes a time when the
Simplistic and the profound
Overlap, or slightly blend a little.

An awareness of true
Wisdom starts to reveal itself
From this union.

A bonus of comfort and
Contentment begins to emerge
From one’s soul.
