Our New Jersey home was destroyed by hurricane Sandy on October 29, 2012; God gave us this poem to help us in our recovery from the indescribable destruction and loss. Maybe it will help someone else in the same situation.

Hilton Head, South Carolina

There’s a hole in the ground where our house used to be,
And a hole in our hearts that no one can see,
Our faith has been tested, our marriage was tried,
We’re hoping to soon be on the other side.
The trauma and turmoil are now disappearing,
We’re praying for God’s restoration and healing,
We know He is good and He has a plan,
So we’re moving forward, our hands in His Hand.
Let that hole in the ground remind you and me,
That the hole in our hearts can be re-filled with Thee..
