Debuting in theaters April 19th is the film Home Run, a powerful story of success and failure, addiction and redemption. Baseball all-star Cory Brand (Scott Elrod) is haunted by the past of an alcoholic and abusive father. A talented athlete, Cory works hard to become a Major League baseball player, but reacts to the stress of painful memories by drowning them in alcohol.

As his life begins spiraling out of control, his agent (Vivica A. Fox) steps in, trying to repair what's left of the star's image. Hoping to save her client's career and reputation after Cory gets a DUI and a team suspension, she sends him back to the small town where he grew up. Forced to coach the local youth baseball team and spend eight weeks in the only recovery program in town, the Christ-centered program Celebrate Recovery (based on a real-life addiction recovery program), Cory can't wait to return to his old life as quickly as possible.

As his young players help him experience the joy of the game, Cory discovers his need to find freedom from his past and hope for his future … and win back the love he left behind. With this unexpected second chance, Cory finds himself on a powerful journey of transformation and redemption.

Based on thousands of true stories, Home Run is a powerful reminder that with God, it's never too late … freedom is possible. Click to find the movie Home Run appearing in a theater near you.
