My father just began an annual pursuit that he loves ... turning up ground for the vegetable garden. He will plant green beans, squash, cucumbers and tomatoes, and because of the TLC he gives those plants, he enjoys a wonderful harvest most years.

It gets me thinking ... what "hard ground" in my heart do I need my Heavenly Father to turn up? If I let Him do the not-always-pleasant digging into the deepest places in my heart, He will plant new seeds and care for them. If I spend time with Him and meditate on His Word, He will tend those seeds into something beautiful. And as we scatter seeds of faith around to others, we may not always see the harvest, but we can be sure the Master Gardener is always at work.

A thought from the Word...

Matthew 13:23
But the seed falling on good soil refers to someone who hears the word and understands it. This is the one who produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.
