The Mar/Apr issue of Homecoming is centered around the theme of worship, so we asked the Homecoming artists what worship means to them. I can certainly identify with some of their thoughts, and maybe you can, too.

Wes Hampton writes that worship "is all about surrender and the realization that I am not in control ... it demands that I empty myself to make room for His presence." Wesley Pritchard admits that, like all of us, there are days when he doesn't feel like praising, "but then I begin to think on the goodness of the Lord and what He has done... all of the heartaches and trials He has brought me through ... and then I can't help but praise Him." Sheri Easter says, "My circumstances may be the same after I've made time for worship, but I am different. Worship reminds me that nothing I do, or nothing I may face is out of His control." And Lily Isaacs shares a similar idea, saying, "When I worship, I live my life in peace and comfort, knowing that God is in control of everything."

As you go through your own week, we hope that you, too, will take some time to draw closer to the Lord in worship. Even as it blesses His heart, it refreshes our own hearts!

A thought from the Word ...

Psalm 71:8
My mouth is filled with your praise, declaring your splendor all day long.
