This C.S. Lewis quote in the banner above is so true, yet it's not always easy for me to remember in daily life. Many of us have grown up hearing "God helps those who help themselves," but Paul says in Philippians, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

And truly, Jesus modeled a life of dependence on the Father. He gave the glory to the God through His words and actions, and often He would steal away to be alone with God, to be replenished and refilled. If He recognized His need every day, shouldn't we?

A thought from the Word...

John 15:5
I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.
