Our May/June issue is just about to be delivered to everyone, and we hope you'll love it! The theme is all about "being a light" in the world, or how our lives as Christians should shine even more brightly than just our words.  So here's today's question for you: Besides Jesus, who has been a light in your life and how have they let their light shine? If you'd like to answer, take just a moment and click here.

A thought from the Word...

Matthew 5:14-16

You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.

Today we're launching our "Love the Doves" Trivia Contest! We'll be giving you chances to win throughout the day, so stay tuned to our Facebook and Twitter (@Homecoming_Mag) pages for updates. You could win a CD from the following Dove Award-nominated artists: Jason Crabb, the Martins, Wes Hampton, Russ Taff or the Isaacs. The contest will begin at 10:00 a.m. (CST) today, so be sure to join us then at this link!
Our favorite Emmy-nominated funny lady Chonda Pierce has lots of fun things happening, including co-hosting the upcoming Dove Awards. She tweeted this recently: "Two dresses, accessories and shoes...I used my whole paycheck for hosting the thing! If I don't get a Dove Award...I'd like to have a Pigeon Award!" Chonda has also just released a new comedy DVD called I'm Kind of a Big Deal (Provident Music Distribution), featuring hilarious stories delivered with her trademark Southern charm.  To read more and see a preview clip, click here.
Put your hands together for Karen Peck & New River and the Isaacs! Both groups came away as big winners in the 2012 Absolutely Gospel Music Awards, held in Tennessee. Karen and her crew took home five awards, with the Isaacs coming in a close second with four. Additional winners from the Homecoming crowd included Jeff & Sheri Easter, the Booth Brothers, the Perrys and others.  For more info and a list of all the winners, click here!
Exciting news from the Talleys! They are finishing up their first project since they became a foursome in September of 2011.  The album is called Love Won, and it features 13 songs, three of which were penned by the newest group member (and Lauren's hubby), Brian Alvey.  The title cut was written by Kenna West (who also has five songs on Larry Ford’s newest CD!).  The album will release on May 15th, and you can see sneak preview videos from the studio by clicking here.
