Our own Andy Andrews recently posted a news story on his Facebook page, and we just have to share it with you! These days, how often do you hear news stories that make you feel warm & fuzzy? Well, this one features the "Nine Nanas" — nine women in West Tennessee who have made a huge difference in their community, while keeping their identities secret — for three decades! From anonymous deliveries of homemade baked goods, to helping out with utility bills, to collecting and donating items to domestic violence shelters, these resourceful ladies have been a great example of joyful giving.  Enjoy this inspiring story, written by Lori Weiss, by clicking here.

We'd also like to congratulate Carol Sumrall of Laurel, MS, for winning the 25 Hill DVD in our last contest!

A thought from the Word...

Hebrews 13:16

And do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Guess what?  It's time for another great giveaway! This time, we have the latest CD by the Oak Ridge Boys up for grabs! Back Home Again is chock-full of gospel favorites including "Standing in the Need of Prayer," "Heaven Bound," and Dolly Parton's "Coat of Many Colors"...we know you're gonna love it! For your chance to win, simply find the answer to this question and email it to dpatterson@salempublishing.com: On July 8, 2011, who joined the Oaks onstage at the Grand Ole Opry, dressed to look like William Lee Golden? (hint: The answer can be found somewhere at homecomingmagazine.com!) We’ll hold a random drawing on Tuesday, August 28th to determine the winner.
Funnyman Jeff Foxworthy, of "You Might Be a Redneck" fame, is beginning a new adventure. This Thursday, August 23, he will debut as host of the new game show on the GSN channel, "The American Bible Challenge." You can read all about it in the Sept./Oct. issue of Homecoming, but you can click here for a sneak preview of the fun! With Jeff hosting, you just never know what will happen!
Have you seen the amazing Annie Moses Band lately? This "string pop" family group is not only virtuosic in their musicianship, but also very entertaining to watch onstage. We're glad to hear that they are not only releasing a new CD, Pilgrims & Prodigals but a new PBS special of the band, also called "Pilgrims & Prodigals," will begin airing in October. If you've never seen them, we highly recommend that you take a look! For more information, click here.
As you may know, the Gaither Vocal Band is coming out with a new album titled Pure and Simple, which will release on September 11th. It's going to be a great album, but we're not saying much more; you can read all about it in the Sept/Oct. issue of Homecoming! We did want to let you know about a special offer from Gaither Music--if you preorder the CD, you'll immediately receive a free download of the very popular GVB song, "One Voice." If you've heard them do that in concert, you'll know how amazing it is.  For details, click here!
