Today I came across a wonderful written piece from author Ann Voskamp. Remember Ann? Gloria gave a glowing review for her book, One Thousand Gifts, in a previous issue of Homecoming Magazine. Anyway, on her website, Ann shared a sweet story about trusting the Lord even when hope seems lost....take a few minutes to read it ... you'll be glad you did!

And we'd love to hear from you: Which attributes of God help you to trust in Him, and/or what has He done in your life that helps you to trust Him more? To offer your thoughts, just click here.

A thought from the Word...

Psalm 20:7
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God.

We're excited that our friend Gordon Mote is coming out with a new solo album on August 27, titled All Things New. The album is a mix of inspirational, country and other influences, and we can't wait to hear it! Throughout his many years as a top Nashville studio musician, Gordon has made many friends within the music industry, and several familiar names lend their voices to this project. The Isaacs have been popping up everywhere lately! We heard through the grapevine that they'll soon be appearing on TV and  that, just yesterday, Sonya and Becky were singing background vocals for a certain blond-haired country music superstar's next album! Click here to find out more...
We were thrilled to watch Homecoming Friend Anne Beiler, owner of Auntie Anne's (of the delicious pretzels!), on the season premiere of ABC's "Secret Millionaire" Sunday night. She visited several organizations in Baltimore, Md., that were in need of a helping hand. What a tearjerker of an episode it was, as Anne revealed her identity at the end and blessed them with generous donations. Check out Anne's Facebook page to read more about her experience, and watch for the episode in reruns!
We sadly and fondly remember our dear friend Stephen Hill, who passed away a year ago yesterday. Lynda Randle posted the photo at left on her Facebook page, showing her with Guy Penrod and Stephen in happier times. Lynda also posted some very kind words to honor her friend, and you can read them by clicking here. You can also read Homecoming Magazine's feature article honoring Stephen's life by clicking here.
