A thought from the Word...

Luke 1:30-31
And the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son, you shall call his name Jesus."

Through the efforts of Bill and Gloria and many of the Homecoming friends, homeless people in Indiana received a huge Christmas blessing this year through the Gaither Homecoming Christmas Spectacular. Read all about that here!
As you may already have heard, Mark Lowry's dear mother, Beverly, passed away at the age of 79 on December 2 in Lynchburg, Virginia. Besides being a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Bev was also a singer and songwriter who wrote or co-wrote songs including "I Thirst" (The Cathedrals), "When They Found Nothing" (Legacy Five), "Across the River" (Triumphant Quartet) and "The Ground is Level" (Ernie Haase). For more information, click here or visit Mark's Facebook page, where he has posted footage of the graveside service and a beautiful tribute video created by his brother Mike.
We are excited that very soon, Jesus' life will be portrayed on the big screen in the movie, Son of God. Mark Burnett and his wife, Roma Downey, produced the series The Bible, which was a huge hit. Now, with footage from the series and new scenes, they will show the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus in this powerful and poignant movie. See a preview here!
Mark Lowry shared a treasure (?) on his Facebook page which is too unique not to share with may have heard it already, but, if not, we'd hate for you to miss this.... experience. These were Mark's words: "I’ve been around good music for my entire life. My mama taught me to love music from a time that is earlier than I can even remember. This link is for one version of “Oh Holy Night.” If you've heard David Phelps’ version of it, you might agree that it’s one of the best we’ve ever heard. This version I’m posting here simply has to be in a strong second place position. I hope you enjoy just as much as I do." ;) And here it is!
