Valentine's Day is quickly approaching, and we hope that it will remind you of how much you are truly loved.  If you are married or single, we know that the only truly unconditional love to be found is from our Lord....and He gives it freely!!  So whether you are celebrating on the 14th with your sweetheart, spending some quality time with friends or simply having a quiet evening, we hope that you will feel the embrace of the abundant, never-ending love of Jesus.

We are inviting you to be creative in our Valentine's Day contest! Plus, we are announcing details for the second Songwriting Intensive event, to be held in June...if you know an aspiring songwriter, be sure to let them know.  And we would still love to receive your submissions for the brand-new "The Song Says It" devotionals category on our website!  Also, thanks goes out to everyone who entered the Billy Graham contest in the last edition; the winners were Terry M. from North Carolina and Donna S. from Indiana, and they have been notified.  For those of you who entered, the complete quote from Mr. Graham is: "A real Christian is someone who can give his pet parrot to the town gossip." Well said, Reverend Graham!

A thought from the Word:

1 Peter 4:8 Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins.

Welcome to our fabulous Valentine's Day contest!! To enter, all you have to do is send us a story of the most hilarious thing that happened at your wedding.  We're not leaving out you single folks, either...if you don't have a personal wedding story, tell us about a funny moment from a wedding you attended.  We will choose some of the funniest stories to post on our website, and we'll pick one winner to receive a prize package, containing Jeff and Sheri Easter's Silver Anniversary CD, plus a copy of Dr. Emerson Eggerichs' book, The Love and Respect Experience.  To enter, just email your story to dpatterson@salempublishing.com - we'll be selecting the winner by noon on Feb. 14th, so get those stories in quickly!
Have you ever been inspired by a Gaither song?  Has a lyric touched your heart and reminded you of something in scripture?  We have a new section on our website called "The Song Says It" devotionals, and we are looking to fill it with your thoughts and reflections.  If you would like to submit a short devotional based on this issue's song, please email it to dpatterson@salempublishing.com.  The song choice this time is "He Touched Me." To read a devotional based on "Because He Lives," just click here.
Are you an aspiring songwriter, or do you know one?  Details are being released about this year's Songwriting Intensive, hosted by Gloria Gaither, and it's an opportunity of a lifetime for those who are serious about the craft of songwriting!  Dates are June 7-10, 2012, and the event will take place at the Gaither Music Company campus in Alexandria, Indiana.  For more information, click here!
Did you know you can read articles from past issues of Homecoming Magazine online now?  We are adding more and more content each day, so tell your friends and family to have a look! And here's a tip, if you want to make the print larger online...it works for most keyboards.  Just press these two keys at the same time: the "control" key and the key with the "plus" symbol on it...that should make everything larger on your screen.  If you get it too large, just press "control" and the "minus" (or hyphen) key at the same time to shrink everything back down...hope this helps!  For your reading pleasure, here are the Homecoming Friends sharing stories in the article "Balancing Acts."  Even if you've read it, it's worth another look! Read More
