"Fatherhood is pretending the present you love most is soap-on-a-rope. "
~ Bill Cosby

It will be Father's Day this Sunday, June 17th! Do you have plans to celebrate with your family? I hope we can all remember ways in which the Lord used our earthly fathers to instruct, encourage or just love on us.  If your father was not the greatest role model, then lean all the more into our Heavenly Father, as He longs to speak words of wisdom, comfort and healing to you today. Blessings to all of you!

Thanks to all who entered our "Father Knows Best" contest! We are still reading entries, and winners will be chosen next week. Many of your wonderful entries will be featured in an article on our website, so stay posted on Facebook!

And continuing the theme, we'd love to hear from you about this...many dads are "experts" at something, whether it's throwing a football, growing a garden or playing guitar. Tell us about something your dad or grandfather can (or could) do really well. To give us your answer, just click here!

A thought from the Word:

Psalm 103:13

As a father has compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear Him.

As you may already have heard, keyboardist and singer Gordon Mote is leaving the Homecoming tour to concentrate mainly on his family and his solo career, although he still plans to be a part of Homecoming events whenever his schedule allows. To hear more about Gordon's plans and to see a video of the heartwarming public farewell between Bill Gaither and Gordon at a recent Homecoming concert, click here.
In our upcoming July/August issue of Homecoming Magazine, we have a wonderful article all about Lynda Randle's upcoming album, 'Til the Storm Passes By. It will officially release on July 31st, but if you visit Gaither Music by clicking here, you can listen to sample clips from the project and, if you preorder the CD, you'll receive a free download of Randle's first radio single!
Michael English is busy working on a new solo CD, and we have the video evidence to prove it! He is joined by former GVB member Russ Taff, as well as Jay DeMarcus of Rascal Flatts. Click here to see their initial practice run in the studio, harmonizing on a chorus. Sounds pretty good so far...what do you think?
We so enjoyed the SocialCam videos from the last issue, and we hope you did too! We're going to start featuring videos each week from some of your favorite Homecoming friends to give you a chuckle, inspire you, touch your heart or just make you smile. This week's picks include Michael English, suffering through a bad case of hiccups; Jason Crabb, with some late-night grilling; and Doug Anderson, making a disturbing (and hilarious) discovery...watch them all by clicking here!
