The fall season brings with it changes — leaves present a glorious display of color before letting go of their branches, the air turns cooler and we begin holiday preparations. And this year, changes are afoot within the Gaither Vocal Band, as you'll read below. It has been a wonderful five-year season for this lineup of the group, and though changes like this are never easy, we look forward to what the next season will bring.

Have you had a chance to read the November/December issue of Homecoming yet? You'll enjoy getting to know Wes Hampton, Michael Sykes, Karen Peck and other Homecoming friends a bit better, as well as insightful author Ann Voskamp. We hope this issue warms your heart as the days turn chilly!

Of course, we always enjoy hearing what our readers have to say, and as you know, we feature your thoughts and creative works in our Circle section. If you would like to be part of Homecoming Magazine, click here!

A thought from the Word...

Isaiah 43:19
See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.

After a wonderful five-year run, the current lineup of the Gaither Vocal Band is undergoing some changes--the departure of two of its members. Mark Lowry and Michael English have decided to leave the group and concentrate on other opportunities at this time. We are sad to see them leave the GVB family (though as Mark points out, no one ever really leaves), but we wish them all the best. For more details from, click here.
This year's Dove Awards celebrated a great variety of styles within the realm of Christian/gospel music, and we were excited to see many Homecoming Friends honored with awards. If you did not get a chance to see the show, we have highlights, a winners' list and a great photo gallery for you here!
You may remember the name Danny Gokey from the eighth season of "American Idol." He auditioned in 2008, just weeks after the devastating loss of his wife Sophia, who died of complications during heart surgery. In her honor, Danny has spearheaded an amazing foundation to provide hope and restoration to others. God has since blessed him with a new love (shown at left) and a new baby. Get to know this remarkable young man a little better here.
