The focus of the Nov/Dec issue of Homecoming is all about enjoying the simple pleasures of life, especially during the sometimes-stressful holiday season. Reading a good book, enjoying a cup of tea with a friend, playing a board game with a grandchild or simply admiring God’s handiwork in the beauty of nature . . . these can all bring joy, while costing little.

Speaking of simple joys, we have a great giveaway in this newsletter, sure to please fans of the Love Comes Softly series of movies. Keep reading below for more details!

A thought from the Word…

I Timothy 6: 6-7

But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we can take nothing out of it.

Continuing our series about the Hopper family, we're featuring Karlye Hopper in this issue. This bright, talented young gal is a breath of fresh air, as she shares about her faith, her family, their ministry and what it's like being a teenager in the midst of it all. You may have heard her lovely singing voice, but this young lady's true passion is writing. Catch up with Karlye by clicking here!
You may have seen on Facebook that the Gaither Vocal Band held a live taping last week for the DVD of their latest fantastic project, Pure and Simple. With the GVB in top form, and featuring guests Angela Primm, the Booth Brothers and adorable singer-songwriter couple, Joey & Rory, the video is sure to be one that you’ll love. The music takes place in front of a vintage-style stage set featuring antique gas pumps, a country “market,” and an old-timey front porch. The GVB also recorded extra, entertaining footage in a vehicle wired with cameras and lots of microphones...should be fun! For behind-the-scenes photos from Gaither Music, click here.
