Welcome to October! It’s nice to feel that slight chill in the Nashville air and see the beautiful colors of the changing leaves, as we get ready to head into the busy holiday season.

Congratulations to Marie Powell, who won our caregiver contest! We got so many great entries from those of you who are caregivers (or who know a caregiver), and we pray that God will give you joy, perseverance and as you bless those who cannot care for themselves.

A thought from the Word…

Isaiah 26:3

You will keep in perfect peace him whose mind is steadfast, because he trusts in you.

We recently caught up with soulful singer Reggie Smith, who is busy traveling and performing with his lovely wife, Ladye Love Smith. They recently returned from Los Angeles to Nashville, to perform on the Grand Ole Opry, with the likes of Crystal Gayle, Loretta Lynn, Miranda Lambert, Trace Adkins, Jimmy Dickens and others. You  may know that Reggie has a great sense of humor, and it shows in his answers to our questions! You can enjoy that interview here!
It’s Gaither Fest time again in Myrtle Beach! Join Bill and Gloria and the Homecoming Friends for an uplifting musical extravaganza filled with joy, laughter, good music and great memories, taking place October 19 and 20. The roster of talent planned for this year with the Gaither Vocal Band includes the Browns, the Collingsworth Family, Jeff & Sheri Easter, Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, Buddy Greene, the Isaacs, the Martins, Gene McDonald, the Nelons, Lynda Randle, Greg and Charlotte Ritchie, Russ Taff and Kevin Williams. For more information about this event and the Ft. Worth Gaither Fest in 2013, click here.
Daywind has just debuted a new group, and we’d like to introduce you! They are called Watts, Rowsey & Bean, named for members Nicole Watts Jenkins, John Darin Rowsey and Gina Bean. These solo artists all have impressive pedigrees, and you may have seen Nicole and John on Gaither Homecoming videos. The three have combined forces to make a fresh Southern Gospel sound, and you can read more about this exciting new group here.
We have heard news that Ian Owens has resigned from the group Ernie Haase & Signature Sound, and here's what Ernie has to say:

“For the past two years the EHSS team and fans have been enriched by the voice and personality of Ian Owens. Ian has announced that he will be pursuing other interests (both musical and personal) and we fully support him and wish him great success. Ian's last date with EHSS will be October 13th, 2012, in Sunnyvale, Texas. Come out and support Ian and please pray for Ian and his wife Megan as they follow this new path.

We will miss Ian dearly. He is a funny, FUNNY man who has become a great friend and that will never change. We will update you at a later date with all information concerning Ian and his plans.

Our new bass singer is a young man you are going to love. His name is Paul Harkey. We will fill you in on all of his information soon. Pray for EHSS as we navigate through this transition time. Sincerely, Ernie.”
