ONE WAY OR ANOTHER
Arc Entertainment’s The Way is a powerful and inspiring film written and directed by Emilio Estevez and starring Martin Sheen. Sheen plays Tom, an irascible American doctor who travels to France to collect the body of his son (played by Estevez), killed while walking the Camino de Santiago, also known as “The Way of St. James.” Instead of returning to his California home, Tom decides to honor his son by finishing the historical pilgrimage on his behalf. An inexperienced trekker, Tom bonds with a band of misfit pilgrims from around the world, each dealing with their own issues and seeking greater meaning in their lives. Through the unexpected and sometimes amusing events he experiences along the way, Tom discovers the difference between “the life we live and the life we choose.” The Way, now available on DVD and Blu-ray, was filmed entirely in Spain and France, along the actual Camino de Santiago.
