The Nelon Foundation is a nonprofit founded by Jason and Kelly Nelon Clark which expands their musical platform into various outreach opportunities, including support for orphans, music education, homeless ministry and more.
This past fall, the Nelon Foundation bestowed a very special award for the first time—the Rex Nelon Lifetime Achievement Award, named for Kelly's late father and gospel great, Rex Nelon.

Kelly and Jason made the presentation to recipient Dr. Jerry Goff, who was accompanied by his wife, “Lil’ Jan” Buckner-Goff, during the second annual Sing Atlanta event, hosted by the Nelons.

Goff is a preacher, singer, musician and songwriter. He founded the group Jerry and the Goffs and also performed with the Lefevres and the Thrasher Brothers. He was inducted into the SGMA Hall of Fame in 2002, and he received the SGMG's Harmony Honor Award in 2014. In addition to his musical career, Goff is well known for his emcee talents. Widely considered "Mr. Emcee" by industry professionals, he has entertained audiences for decades.
“We wanted to use our platform to honor those who’ve made significant contributions to the ministry of gospel music and its culture heritage, and we feel like Dr. Goff was the perfect choice,” says Jason.

Kelly adds, “I know Daddy is smiling up in Heaven and would be thrilled to have his lifelong friend honored in such a way.”
