It's lovely to hear stories like this one, which has gone viral on YouTube and in the news. For several years, Tinney Davidson has brightened the day for high school students walking by her home on their way to school. Davidson, 84, and her husband moved into their home in Comox, British Columbia, in 2007. Every day, they would sit by the window, wave and smile at the students walking past their house to and from Highland Secondary School. Tinney's husband passed away a few years ago, but she continues the tradition. She told CHEK NEWS, "I love it, and they seem to like it also.So it's been a fun few years."
The students were touched by her kind gesture and decided to give something back to the lady who makes them smile. They recently held an assembly in her honor, thanking her in person with speeches, cards, hugs and a video message. A grateful, teary-eyed Tinney turned and waved to all the students who were gathered. And, of course, they waved back.
