What She Remembered
Contributor Two Contributor Two
My mother was a preacher’s wife and loved that role through all her married life. The last few years of her life were lived in dementia but she always recognized hymns when she heard them. Sometimes we watched the videos together and other times, when I had to leave her at the nursing facility, I would put on a Gaither video before I left and she was thoroughly happy to listen to the music of her Lord and Savior. We also would play the videos with a little more volume and aides, nurses and residents would stand in the doorway and listen — her own little ministry. I am so very grateful for the Gaithers for my mother, but this inspiring music and laughter has been my salvation so very many times, and my husband and I continue to be involved with the Homecoming family. Thank you and God bless you all.
